About Top Budapest

The aim of Top Budapest is to help Budapest visitors make the most out of their Budapest stay - regardless of nationalities, budget limitations, styles, preferences, ages, interests, etc. The articles on the site are written mostly by me, Anna Sebestyen, and I get immense help from other Hungarian friends as well as foreign travelers (special thanks to Dave Price for several wonderful photos!) who share their Budapest experiences with me. In the long term, I wish to be able to financially support a team of bloggers, travel writers, who help to make TopBudapest.org even better, but at this moment, the website takes loads of investment and is not producing enough revenue yet. So it is a genuine non-profit site made out of love for Budapest, the capital of Hungary and the strong belief in fair services, transparency and democracy.

Why is it TopBudapest .org and not .com?

TopBudapest.org first and foremost cares about Budapest travelers and not Budapest advertisers: we are not supporting ads or sponsors that provide low quality services, and advertise in an intrusive way. Besides, most of the ad revenue generated through Top Budapest website is recycled into the site to make it even better and up-to-date or the services related to the site (e.g. buying films for the camcorder to make You short informative films about Budapest).

How do we know that it is the Top of Budapest?

We do not think that our TopBudapest team is perfect, but we aim to give travelers the Top things, tips, info about Budapest. As a team of certified travel guides, translators and experienced international project coordinators, plus people who live, breathe, eat, drink, dance, etc. in Budapest and talk to foreigners here , we provide the insider's view and balance it with foreigners' opinions and reviews by continually monitoring travel forums and travel blogs to skim the most important and most useful info for Budapest tourists.

In addition, our blog, Budapest Pebbles , will be absolutely open to comments (you don't need to register for a comment, just keep the basic rules of politeness and family-friendly styles). We build stone by stone, pebble by pebble, and we are glad to hear from you.
