The contemporary dance groups in Hungary get together for the L1 Dance Festival in September to attract more eyeballs to, well, contemporary dance: Hungarian local and foreign dance groups and choreographers will show their performances during the five day dance fest in the best dance venues in Budapest.
There will be more over ten performances (and also some free workshops) during the L1 dancefest. The venues range from the mainstream National Dance Theatre (up in the Buda Castle district on the Castle Hill of Budapest), or the Hungarian College of Dance through the major underground theatres like Trafo to less known studios like MU Theatre or Kretakor Basis.
Foreign dance groups are coming to perform in Budapest: from Chile, the Czech Republic, the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, etc.
Date: 19-23 September, 2012

Their about message is a clear mission statement to spread the word about the importance and wonders of contemporary dance:
Contemporary has to be discovered, has to be in a friendly relation with Classical and Traditional styles, has to be educated and because of all this, has to be supported as part of the whole! This is a huge work to get this message across to all the curators and supporters!
